ENGLISHThe new session began with new hopes and smiles. The young learners enjoyed presenting their introduction to their peers in front of the entire class, which helped them develop their public speaking and self-confidence. On the first day of the class, an engaging icebreaker titled 'Hope and Fear' was performed which was completely in accordance with SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being. Literature The young learners' completed the Unit-'How to make a Hovering bee' with an emphasis on understanding, following and writing instructions. They brought fruits, dry fruits, honey, and other ingredients. to perform 'The Honey Fruit Salad Activity' for the class. They gained the ability to construct independent instructional sentences and gained an understanding of how instructions are used and what they meant through this activity. In order to improve reading abilities, Pronunciation, and fluency, the class engaged in regular loud reading practice. The students learnt new facts about the human body through the Unit- ‘How do we Move?’ . Regular loud reading was practiced in the class to improve reading skills, pronunciation and fluency. Students were introduced to the concept of 'Verbs' through a Dumb Charades and Simon says game after which they drew a mind map related to the topic. Regular worksheets were provided to help students review the lessons. Fable Festival The adored and eagerly anticipated "Fable Festival" was planned in order to develop the habit of reading which in turn will enhance the vocabulary of the children. The festival was an effort to encourage young readers and was a celebration of the reader in all of us. In the first class, a model reading of a fable and the announcement of the festival were presented to the students. The children were shown the reading log and its purpose. In the upcoming sessions, the tales were read by the youngsters. Lastly, to showcase their speaking and presentation skills the young learners came spruced up as bumble bees and honey bees and shared few experiences into the universe of these bugs through the 'Bee Me presentation'. EVSEnvironment education is the education about and for the environment. In the month of April, students started their session with a round of self-introduction. They were made aware of the essential agreements to be followed in the class. They learnt about themselves by incorporating a variety of bodily kinaesthetic activities in sync with the concepts done in the class. Students enjoyed playing the game 'Simon Says' wherein they learnt about the body parts. See-Think- Wonder strategy was used to trigger their thinking about the importance and functions of body parts. Earth Day was celebrated later in the month, where the students made a poster and pledged to be 'Earth Warriors.' Students enthusiastically learnt about the different sense organs with the help of different activities. It was indeed a true experiential learning for them as they enjoyed and learnt all together. In order to connect their knowledge about the function of the lungs, with SDG 3- Good Health and Well-Being, on-the-spot jogging activity and breathing exercise were done in the class. The topic 'Family' was introduced with the help of some inquiry-based questions. A video on family, types of family and family tree was shown in the class followed by a discussion on the same. The learning journey continued with a fun-filled activity- 'Play Time with Friends'. They understood the value and importance of family in their lives and recreational activities to have a great bond with the family. Through the activity they understood the meaning of goal and learnt how to set small milestones and role model the right behaviour to achieve their milestones. Students were given 2 and 3-digit numbers wherein they were asked to think as to where have they seen the digits. The ‘Place Value” concept for 3-digit was introduced through concrete models, word form, pictorial form and model form. They learnt about 'Ordering Of Numbers' and 'Comparing Of Numbers' using number cards and blocks. Going further, they were given the concept of 'Forming Numbers', using 2-digit numbers. An understanding of 'Ordinal Numbers', 'Even and Odd Numbers' and the concept for '2D Shapes' was also given at the closure. The students understanding for the various topics was evaluated by various quizzes, worksheets and activities. Then, they did an activity wherein they were asked to play the role of a computer and a human and explain the difference between them. They were also taken on school tour to understand the various places where computers are used. They also identified the other places where computers are used during class discussions. They were taken to ICT Lab to view various types of computers and their features. They were introduced to the keyboard and were asked to type the various places where computers are used. A group discussion was conducted to make the students aware of the computer care tips and the things to be taken care of while using the computer. Along with Kathak basics students learnt beautiful postures, mudras and body balancing in Kathak dance style. WESTERN DANCEThe new session started with the enthusiastic Bhangra dance on the occasion of Baisakhi festival. Bhangra being one of the most energetic dance forms, it gives students the scope to push themselves to built their stamina and it is one of the best calisthenic exercise. Bhangra choreography was an amalgamation of rhythmic footwork and broad hand movements. The choreography was done in modern Bhangra style keeping the essence of the folk element intact. DRAMAVoice exercises are a set of techniques and practices aimed at improving the quality, range, and flexibility of one's voice. Some common voice exercises include breathing exercises, warm-up exercises for the vocal cords and mouth muscles, and exercises to improve diction and pronunciation. These exercises can help to increase the strength and endurance of the vocal cords, improve the clarity and articulation of speech, and enhance the overall tone and quality of the voice. Regular practice of voice exercises like the one with vowels "A, E, I, O, U" along with identification of different and basic emotions and expressions has been a major part of the practice. VISUAL ARTSStudents were introduced to poster-making on World Art Day, they were shown pictures of various posters. Students were encouraged to draw a pallette, colour tubes, pencils, brushes, etc. They learnt when Art Day is celebrated. They also practised the merging and proper filling techniques with oil pastels. Children created a beautiful composition on Mother's Day and also drew self hand impression which was coloured in Cubism style. ASSEMBLiesEarth dayThe only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved. – Richard Rogers To commemorate the Earth Day, Grade IIA conducted a special assembly, wherein the children sensitized everyone about sustainability and conservation in order to save our planet earth. The assembly commenced with the morning prayer and proceeded with the National and International News, Thought of the Day and Significance of the day in History. A thought provoking poem on sustainability was recited. The assembly concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem. ENDANGERED SPECIESThe students of Grade II B joined hands together to put forward a very sensitive topic, 'ENDANGERED SPECIES' on 19th May 2023. Each and every student participated with bubbling excitement and energy.The assembly started by seeking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by updates of National , International ,Sports , Weather and School News .The students next enriched everyone's vocabulary by sharing the 'Word of the Day'. The role play and kept everyone spell bound. The message was loud and clear, 'LET’S SAVE THE ANIMALS.' The assembly concluded with National Anthem. STEM
